Volunteer Roles - Expression of Interest
Engineers and Geoscientists BC is continually looking for new volunteers to help support the important regulatory functions carried out by our volunteer subcommittees and groups. Volunteer positions with EGBC allow you the unique opportunity to contribute to the regulation and governance of your profession.
The majority of our volunteer positions require you to have been registered as a P.Eng. or P.Geo. for at least 1 year. The work that our volunteers do is varied and can range from a very small time commitment to a more consistent time commitment. Most of our volunteer work can be completed remotely and can be scheduled around your other commitments. You may also be able to earn CE (continuing education) hours through this volunteer work.
If you are a P.Eng. or P.Geo. and are interested in volunteering with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, please submit your application here as an expression of interest! We will contact you if a volunteer opportunity arises that fits your qualifications and area of practice.
WHO WE ARE
Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia regulates and govern the professions of engineering and geoscience under the authority of the Professional Governance Act.
We are charged with protecting the public interest by setting and maintaining high academic, experience, and professional practice standards for over 40,000 registrants. Individuals licensed by Engineers and Geoscientists BC are the only persons permitted by law to undertake and assume responsibility for engineering and geoscience projects in BC.
We are a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of elected registrants, licensees, and government appointees. The board is accountable to the public through the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills under the Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance, for both the governance and management of the organization.
